How much time should I plan for the visit ?

For the visit of our museum spaces and a walk on the outdoor discovery trail, plan at least 1h30. But do not hesitate to plan a full day! Bird watching, didactic panels, projection, meals in the canteen, playground… What a great day out to spend with the family… and take your time !

Is it possible to come to the Aquascope Virelles by public transport?

The TEC offers two lines:
156c Pesche / Couvin station SNCB – Chimay
109a Charleroi-Beaumont-Chimay

Is the site suitable for people with reduced mobility?

The interior route is fully accessible to people with reduced mobility. On the other hand, on the outdoor course, on certain gravel passages, traditional wheelchairs, unlike electric wheelchairs, will have more difficulty.

Are small bicycles or balance bikes accepted on the site?

Our paths are not macadamized, it will be difficult for your grandchildren to practice cycling or to use their balance bike.

Is my dog/puppy allowed?

Our four-legged friends are welcome provided they are kept on a leash both on the inside and outside course.

These are not accepted during the specific activities (theme walk, wild dawn…) and our unusual accommodations.

Are picnics allowed on your site?

Picnics are allowed but only on the outdoor discovery trail. We invite you to sit on one or the other bench.

The chairs and tables set up around the Canteen are exclusively reserved for people eating there.

As there is no place where you can leave your bag, you can leave the Aquascope to get to your vehicle. In this case, please contact our hostesses to let them know.

Is the outdoor course freely accessible during and outside opening hours?

The Aquascope site being a private domain, it is impossible to access it freely outside opening days and hours. To know these, we invite you to click on the link .

Is the playground freely accessible?

Our play area is accessible exclusively to our visitors but also to people taking at least one drink per person at the Cantine de l’Aquascope.

Are walking shoes or boots necessary to visit you?

Walking shoes or boots are not necessary. However, in case of heavy rain for several days in a row, it is best to wear walking shoes.

Is La Cantine freely accessible or do we have to pay the entrance fee to the Virelles Aquascope?

La Cantine is freely accessible during the opening days and hours of the Aquascope Virelles (except during certain events)

Can the barbecues near the playground be used?

These barbecues cannot be used by our visitors. Indeed, these are exclusively reserved for the tenants of our accommodation but also during team-building.
