Part of the Virelles pond estate – Aquascope and its surrounding park – is open to the general public. Here people can learn about nature in a fun way while letting their imaginations run wild.
The rest is normally closed to the general public, so as to maintain the peace and quiet that are so essential for the birds and animals. However, it is possible to gain access to the nature reserve on certain occasions, under the watchful eye of a conservation officer, for guided visits.
Virelles pond nature reserve offers a very wide range of environments, including freestanding water, reedbeds, alder swamps, limestone pasture, watermeadow etc.
What is a nature reserve?
Why is there one at Virelles?

Each visit will concentrate on a different theme, to suit the season (nesting and flowering in spring, migration in autumn, etc.) and/or according to your particular request.
Price: flat rate of 150 EUR (maximum 20 people), covering a guided tour of the nature reserve and entrance to Aquascope Virelles (guided tour inside, free experience outside).
