Aquascope Virelles
offers a free course for people wishing to become nature guides. The course is mainly practical and field-based, aimed at welcoming visitors to Aquascope and guiding them around. The programme includes ornithology, botany, the aquatic environment, the history of the site and management of the reserve, as well as certain teaching elements and ways of promoting sustainable development.
This six-day course is specific to Virelles pond. It is offered free of charge, in exchange for doing at least the same number of days of voluntary work as a guide, showing visitors round Aquascope. On this course you will learn more about nature and how to share your enthusiasm with visitors. You will also become an inside player in the reserve, joining a network of enthusiasts. So far more than 100 nature guides have followed the course and now take it in turns to welcome thousands of visitors and open their eyes to the wonders of Aquascope.
